# Stacksync MCP: manage your platform

> Use your AI assistant to create, configure and operate Stacksync resources

Source: https://docs.stacksync.com/mcp/platform

Stacksync MCP lets your AI assistant operate the Stacksync platform on your behalf. Ask it to create and configure resources, run automations, investigate failures and resolve issues in your workspace.

This is the platform management capability of the [single Stacksync MCP connection](/mcp). When you want your assistant to act directly in an external app, such as updating a CRM contact, use [Stacksync MCP Gateway](/mcp/gateway) through that same connection.

## What your assistant can do

| Resource | What your assistant can do |

## Example requests

* *"Create a two-way sync between Salesforce and PostgreSQL."*
* *"Which syncs in this workspace have open issues? Resolve them."*
* *"Build a workflow that posts closed HubSpot deals to Slack."*
* *"List the workflows in my workspace and show their latest failed runs."*

## Permissions and approvals

Your assistant acts with your Stacksync workspace role and can access only the resources you can access. Workspace roles govern platform resources such as syncs, workflows and Genies. MCP Gateway Policies control direct app access; they do not replace those workspace roles.

Workspace owners can enable **Ask before every change** to require approval before a create, update, delete or run. Calls appear in the [MCP Activity Log](/mcp/activity-log). See [Governance and security](/mcp/governance) for settings and limits.

## Stacksync skills

Your assistant also follows [Stacksync skills](https://github.com/stacksyncdata/skills): guides that describe how to build and troubleshoot each resource the right way. The Stacksync MCP serves them to every connected assistant, so there is nothing to install. To install them in your assistant as well:

* **Claude Code:** run `/plugin marketplace add stacksyncdata/skills`, then `/plugin install stacksync@stacksync`. The plugin also connects the Stacksync MCP.
* **Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, VS Code and others:** run `npx skills add stacksyncdata/skills`.
